Applying Linux Container to AGL IVI Demo Platform and Cluster Profile - Harunobu Kurokawa, Renesas

Instrument Cluster EG discuss how to achieve Quality management required for cluster product, and the Linux container based architecture was proposed one of method as QM isolation. In CES2020, AGL green machine demonstrated the concept using Linux container that it is enable to be Lightweight , Low Spec, easy to integration, and easy to control he system. Kurokawa will speak the integration AGL Cluster and IVI for CES2020 demo and discuss the issue and solution of current AGL profile when it run on linux container.

Extending Bluetooth Within AGL - Matt Ranostay, Konsulko Group

Bluetooth services are a core component of functionality with the
AGL software stack.

Speaker will go into the devlopment of the Bluetooth binding within
AGL and it's respective dependent components (e.g. agl-service-bluetooth-map,
agl-service-bluetooth-pbap, etc).

Some of the key points will touch on corner cases discovered during development,
extending other bindings/applications to utilize the agl-serice-bluetooth service,
and steps to integrate your own vendor Bluetooth stack.

Lessons Learned from the AGL Demo Platform - Scott Murray, Konsulko Group

The AGL demo platform, the "green machine", is the introduction to the AGL platform for many, and currently acts as a testbed for software integration efforts similar in some ways to an AGL productization effort. This presentation will outline the current state of the platform and the evolution it has undergone over the last few years. In addition to an overview of the demo unit specific hardware and software components, there will be more focused discussion about some of the recent development to enable demo features like cluster, CAN support, and Alexa integration that are likely relevant to developers interested in productization of AGL.

Rule Based Arbitrator in Cockpit System - Naohiro Nishiguchi, DENSO Corporation

In the cockpit system, it is necessary to inform the driver at the appropriate timing.
In addition, there is a lot of event (navigation guidance, some waring, telephone call and so on) to be informed, therefore, it is necessary to arbitrate which information is given priority when multiple events occur simultaneously.
So far, such arbitration has considered using Matrix and/or State transition, but this method has problem like below.
- takes time to change specifications
- can not be maintain due to lose the past specification intention

Naohiro Nishiguchi will explain Rule-Based Arbitrator (RBA) to solve these issues and to realize flexible arbitration
which can adopt the change of specification easily based on original rule.
And he will introduce the results of integrating RBA into the AGL environment.

Automotive Audio Bus (A2B) is an audio transport technology from Analog Devices that is quickly gaining popularity in new automotive applications. This session will highlight A2B's architecture and unique features in comparison to other automotive audio transports. A walk through of the newly created A2B Linux kernel subsystem will be conducted to explain how A2B functionality is exposed in Linux. In addition, an upstreaming update on the subsystem will be provided. The talk will then explore how A2B appears to Linux userspace and the challenges and solutions involved in supporting a system running AGL with the PipeWire audio framework.

Running Alien Applications as Android or Electron inside AGL - Fulup Ar Foll, iot.bzh

There are many cases where it makes value to run “non AGL” applications under the control of AGL security framework. This is an obvious case for popular ecosystems as Android or Electron. Furthermore many enterprises find valuable to run legacy applications developed for a previous generation of hardware/software under their new forthcoming platform.

Linux light containers share a unique Linux kernel and come with few extra constraints over hypervisors. On the other hand they are far more efficient in performances and resources, and simplify devices sharing as: audio, graphic, CAN, ...

This talk presents how to run alien sub-systems inside an AGL. It presents two concrete use cases with Android and Electron ecosystems. Then it explains how sharing resources and security model could be implemented, finally it lists existing work to move from a simple POC to a real solution.
