Automotive Audio Bus (A2B) is an audio transport technology from Analog Devices that is quickly gaining popularity in new automotive applications. This session will highlight A2B's architecture and unique features in comparison to other automotive audio transports. A walk through of the newly created A2B Linux kernel subsystem will be conducted to explain how A2B functionality is exposed in Linux. In addition, an upstreaming update on the subsystem will be provided. The talk will then explore how A2B appears to Linux userspace and the challenges and solutions involved in supporting a system running AGL with the PipeWire audio framework.
